about

Rawan is a multidisciplinary and installation artist based between Rhode Island and New York City. Her work explores the intersection of ethereal atmosphere, materiality, and whimsical storytelling, often drawing from the natural world to create intimate, immersive experiences.

She holds a BFA in Apparel Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, where her foundation in textiles continues to inform the tactile, layered nature of her practice. Working across painting, illustration, botanicals, and site-responsive installation, Rawan approaches materials with a sensitivity to scale, texture, and mood, allowing intuition and process to guide each piece.

Her large-scale paintings are deeply atmospheric, built through expressive mark-making and soft accumulations of color that evoke emotional and imagined landscapes. Smaller works and drawings function as quiet studies—mythic, botanical, and symbolic—while her illustrations lean into a playful, whimsical language designed to spark warmth and wonder. Her installation work expands these ideas into physical space, often incorporating florals and organic materials to create environments that feel contemplative, tender, and alive.

Beyond the studio, Rawan is the founder of Aurora Botanica, a floral design studio specializing in bespoke wedding and event design. She is currently bridging her artistic and design practices by offering floral, installation, and stationery design, while maintaining a studio practice rooted in exploration, intuition, and personal expression. Rawan is currently preparing a new collection of paintings and illustrations for May 2026.

She offers private workshops throughout the East Coast and in New York City. Contact her for inquiries.
