about

Rawan is a multidisciplinary artist based in the RI/NYC area. Her work explores the tension between ethereal atmosphere and whimsical storytelling. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, Apparel Design), Rawan’s background in textiles informs the rich, tactile quality of her work, whether she is working on canvas or with botanicals.

Her practice is a study in scale and mood: her large-scale paintings are deeply atmospheric, utilizing expressionistic marks and layered textures to create moody, ethereal color stories. In contrast, her smaller works serve as intimate studies of the natural world, while her digital and traditional illustrations lean into a whimsical, playful aesthetic designed to spark happiness.

Beyond the studio, Rawan is the founder of Aurora Botanica, a floral design company specializing in bespoke wedding design. She is currently bridging her two worlds by offering her floral and stationery design for weddings, and creating art for the sake of creating art. Rawan is currently preparing a new collection of paintings and illustrations for the upcoming RISD Craft Show on May 30th, 2026.

She offers workshops and events on the East Coast and in NYC. Contact her for inquiries.
